Windows Media Center 2005 is XP HOME

Pro has Encrypting File System, Remote Desktop, the ability to join to a Domain, Group Policy Editor, and file access controls..

Other then those few things, XP Pro and Home ARE THE SAME OS.

An MCE system doesnt really need to be part of a domain, or have encrypted files, although MCE does have remote desktop.

It does? Excellent, I don't want to be using VNC for a MCE machine- at home I prefer Remote Desktop. Good to know 🙂

There is even a Remote Desktop Wizard hooked into Media Center now that lets you enable Remote Desktop and even set a password for your Windows account if one isn't already created for remote access

This is the new MCE btw. 2005 MCE.
