Microsoft site shows me a list of available updates. They successfully download and begin to install, but always stop at about the 90% point. Any way to straighten this out? What's the best way to start from scratch if necessary?

Thanks

don't know what the problem is but you can manually download the relevant updates & run them at your leisure from here! :)

Try running the command SFC from the run box. It will search your install and compare your windows files with the ones included on your CD and replace any that are damaged. It sounds like you may have a corrupted windows file. It may or may not fix the issue, but it won't cause any harm. The command under Windows XP is sfc/runonce which is run from a command prompt. I believe (from other users in this forum) that in Windows Me, it is just SFC. Can anyone else provide more details for CamperBlaster?:D
