Windows Me to 2000

Do you think I should format when I move from ME to 2000?
If not, do I have to reinstall my stuff anyways?
Can my mom's computer using ME see a 2000 computer on a network?
Will changing to the nt file system instead of fat32 be a problem?
How much slower do games run?

Thanks in advance.

cRazYdood,
You could reformat and start over, or you could dual boot. Post your system specs and the games you intend to run.
Your Mom's computer will see a 2000 computer if they are in the same workgroup and you add her as a user on the Win2K box.
I am still in FAT32 until I decide to fully go with Win2K (Dual boot WinME, 2K now) but NTFS is more secure.
Games, post your system specs but generally they do run a little slower.
Let us know what you decide.

Athlon 1ghz
K7t pro2
geforce2
128 mb of ram

Do you think the Aureal windows 2k drivers might give me problems though?
I guess my main games would be Quake3 and UT.
Gotta love being able to get the college deals 🙂.

Yeah, either way you'll have to reinstall the apps. Dual boot is ok, but it's a good idea to put the two OSes on different partitions.
