Windows ME System Restore, I need help

I was trying to use system restore and found that no checkpoints have been created for the last 2 months. When I try to choose a restore point the last one available is May 2. Then the calander jumps to August 14th (today). June and July dont even show up. This computer is at work so looking back there were checkpoints created on every monday before May 2nd. I checked and system restore is not disabled. Can somebody give me an idea of what I may have done or what I can do, besides taking a hammer to my computer. Thanks
 
There have been a few product updates that fix known issues with System Restore. Have you recently ran any updates?

I do believe however if you ran a product update for this issue.. it makes all previous restore points invalid or just removes them.
