Hi I just recently purchased an HP Pavilion notebook 5190 with windows me preinstalled on it. windows me has trouble starting up from time to time. I get this blue screen saying Window error with an error message with a lot of zeros and F's. Sometimes it'll boot up after I reboot, sometimes I just get this blank screen and nothing happens. Does anyone knows if this sounds like a windows problem or a hardware problem?

my hp laptop need to wait a few minutes to power up after
shutdown, otherwise it is just dead.

did u try wait for a while?

If I were you I would take the laptop back to the store i bought it and get a new one. Do it now while its still considered a "fresh" purchase. Normally I would make suggestions of one thing or another, but in your case, the computers new, and should work perfectly. My advice is to take it back and get one that works perfectly.

Hi,

Yeah, I tried waiting a couple of minutes after shutting down and sometimes it still had the problem. I called HP up a couple of days ago and the Tech support guy told me that I had too many programs trying to load during boot up and I probably ran out of resources that's why it crashes. So I took everything off of my start up list in msconfig and I haven't had the problem for 3-4 days now. I only have 128MB of RAM, do you guys think that's the problem? Or should i still take the laptop back?
