Windows ME Resource Problems

Has anyone else had problems with the way Windows ME handles resources? I have 128 MB RAM on a Celeron @870, and never had noticed any problems with my resources running out until I used Windows ME. I have taken everthing out of the system tray except for Novell Netware, which I use for my network, yet when I have more than about 5-7 web pages or similar programs my resources go down to 0%! I never had my resources go to 0% when I had 98. Has anyone else had similar problems or could give me an idea of what to do about this besides going back to 98? I could do more with 64 MB in 98 than I can with 128 in ME! Please help.

does the system actually feel like its running on 0 resources? ME runs faster for me than 98. maybe its a bug in ME that reports resources wrong.

I have always had problems with low system resources in Win98 and WinME, but it was worse in WinME. Opening many Internet Explorer windows, or downloading many files with Getright would always result in Windows crash because of no resources. I can only assume these programs aren't cleaning up after themselves and leave resources allocated to them even after they terminate.

However, with a fresh install of WinME and Getright 4.3 it takes much longer for my resources to drop below 15% .... Hope this helps :)
