Windows ME pci to isa bridge question

Ok I installed Windows ME from scratch on a FIC 503+ board with the lastest bios JE439. WinME seems to have found all the VIA chipset stuff except the pci/isa bridge which has a yellow flag on it. I have tried all the VIA chipset drivers currently available for Windows and it didn't resolve this problem. Windows says the mother board is reporting two different bus types and to consult the manufacturer for updated bios. Any ideas other than install Win98se and wait for new bios or chipset drivers?

I only saw that banged device when I tried to install with ACPI on my Soyo 6BA+IV (non-VIA). When I installed without ACPI, everything was fine.

Was the bang on the pci to isa bridge or you just got it on something and then didn't when you didn't install ACPI?

That bridge was banged whenever I installed with 'setup /p j' which denotes ACPI. I'm guessing my BIOS doesn't fully support ACPI. WHen I jusr run 'setup', I don't get the bang. I don't know if my "experience" counts because it's a BX board and not Via.

I just ran 'setup' when I installed ME. I went back to Win98se on this machine. Although I had some problems with Win98se and having no irq's left for the isa sound card. Seems the ACPI steering gabbed and irq. I don't remember seeing the ACPI steering in the last install of Win98se on this machine. I yanked the isa sound card and put in a pci one. Now everything is irq happy.

I should have waited to try WinME like I did with Win98. I waited for Windows 98se before trying Win98 so they could get it smoothed out.
