Windows ME networking wizard keeps crashing!

Brand new IBM NetVista comp. When I run the ME networking wizard, I can only get to the second page. The one were you enter the comp. name and workgroup. When I click the "next" button, I get a
bluescreen "VSERVER" error, and crash back to the desktop. Have TCI/IP installed and am using a Netgear FA311 NIC.
