WIndows ME Installation not working...

I'm trying to install Windows ME, and the setup.exe just freezes and does nothing. When I first start up, I see 4 options, Help, Start with CD support, Start w/o CD support, and something else (I forgot what it was, but it wasn't impotant). I choose Start with CD support. I go to the CD drive (E🙂 and run Setup.exe. It just stays there and does nothing. I can still Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart, but it never enters setup. I used Fdisk to create a single partition on this 80GB drive. Anyone know the problem?

Windows ME is the only chinese operating system I have (Yes, I need a chinese operating system, don't ask why). I'm booting from CD, but it won't start the installation.

I've never had a real Microsoft Windows 9x cd boot me into anything but the install... 😕 The options you listed made me think you were using a floppy boot disk or something.

I was under the impression you are trying to boot off the cd. I dont think ME would let you do that. I think you need a 98 boot disk, then use it to start the install of ME. Get a bootdisk from bootdisk.com and use it. It will load a generic cd driver, then it will read the cd. Then type in C:setup or what ever drive you are going to use and it should take off.
