Alrighty...
So over the weekend, I finally picked up a nice 1394 card so I can do some editing from my Sony DV. The Card is in, and is detected by WinME, but everytime I try to install the OHCI driver .inf, as soon as the progress bar reaches 100%, everything freezes. I tried to run this through safe mode, and I've tried to do a manual driver install on this from the WinME disc to no avail. I can't seem to find an "updated" OHCI driver online (I'm still looking), and the card didn't come with one, as it only came with a cable and Ulead 5.0.
I've found an article, which said that Win98SE had issues similar to this, but were fixed with a patch, and that ME was even further updated on the 1394 front. I couldn't install that patch, as ME rejected it before the installer could launch. I tried to install other things, and they go through perfectly fine. I've also tried unplugging everything but the monitor and keyboard and mouse, and it wouldn't work still (I thought that there could be some conflict with the USB drivers and hub, but this did nothing to help).
Any ideas on this?
