I'm running Windows Me, and I'm wondering if anyone out there is good with the error messages in Windows... <FONT face=Verdana>I'm getting an error that the Microsoft Support site doesn't have any help for me on... wondering if maybe you've seen it.

This is how it reads.

"Explorer has caused an error in <unknown>. Explorer will now close."

(then it says to restart if it continues)

This has been happening for the past couple of days, when I delete files or folders either from the desktop, or from the start menu....

I have reinstalled Windows Me to try to correct the error... didn't help.

Thanks for any help..........

Sounds like you may have some software or drivers causing Explorer to crap out on ya. Have you installed any apps or hardware recently? Have you run Sandisk and such to make sure your Hard drive is in working order? -TAL

Truthfully the real solution for this problem is to get rid of windows me. It is a huge microsoft flop. Put windows 2k or xp and never look back:)

Thanks for the replies... I discovered that I had a virus plaguing my system. I picked it up from Kazaa lite...
(that's what I get for using it....)
I tried to clean it with Norton A V..... didn't work. I had to reformat the hard drive and reinstall everything.

Yes I agree that WinMe isn't the best OS to be using. The plan is to go to Win2000 in the near future.

Thanks again....
