Windows ME and VIA KT133/KX133 chipset drivers. Do I install them? If so, of the 4 drivers, which ones?

I just built an Abit KT7-no raid system and have installed WinME. I have no idea if I should install the VIA KT133 chipset drivers or not. I know the IDE busmaster drivers for SURE shouldn't be installed but as for the IRQ, INF and AGP drivers, again no idea ... should I install them? I can't find one mention of WinME on VIA's site. I WILL NOT run the 4 in 1 install routine as I have found it to be ... well... HORRIBLE! Any systems I have built to date (A7V) I used 98se and found that the best way to get the drivers into 98se is to install them individually in a specific order at the first load of win98se,IRQrouting driver, INF "driver", finally the AGP driver. The customer wanted ME so no choice there. I have found OS specific versions of SBlive Liveware and MS intellitype-point software so I am thinking that some drivers from vendors are having major problems with ME why else OS specific version of major vendor products (Sblive is MAJOR) Seeing that the chipset drivers are MAJOR to any win32 OS running correctly I need help on this one. I am sitting in limbo untill someone gets back to me on this.

When in doubt, assume that it is the same thing as Win98. The two aren't really that different.

i wouldn't install the 4 in 1 drivers bcuz it will give u registry error. I would install the via IDE & AGP drivers, by installing this drivers it should make things easier for DVD/CDRW if u have any, BUT don't install the latest IDE 2149, i had lots a problems from blue screens to windows protection error, so if u are going to install which i think u should, install the "IDE 2147" and the latest "AGP 403d". You could possibly download the AGP form www.viatech.com, but u won't be able to download IDE 2147 from their site, its an older driver now and for some reason they don't include older drivers on their website. If u can't find it email me i'll send it to u via email...hope this helps
