Windows ME and DHCP

I try to configure my 3com cable modem VSP plus at my Windows ME, everything works fine, the hardware and software installs without any problem..but when I try to connect to my network provider my connection stops at DHCP prompt, can't resolve or assing an IP..anyone have any ideia to resolve this problem ?

First of all does your ISP assign static or dynamic IP address? Second of all does your ISP use a LMHOST file? All our Nt workstations use DCHP. However, with our Windows 98 customers we must set up DHCP a little different. Try checking the tab "use DHCP for WIns" on the Wins screen.
Does your ISP require specific DNS and Wins address? These settings could be key to using your cable modem.
