Windows losing focus/Minimizing randomly

A week or two ago I began seeing, particularly when doing something in AIM, that the AIM window would lose focus, as if I had clicked my desktop or something else. Firefox also does this, though it frequently regains focus immediately. Now when playing Guild Wars, which I do often, GW will minimize and bring me to desktop for no apparent reason, which can be a very bad thing when in the heat of play. I have no viruses and a spyware scan turned up nothing. Is this a case of spyware/adware or some sort of incompatibility with my drivers/software? Thanks for any help
