Windows Live Mail 2012 Backup Questions

Doing a fresh install of Windows 7 and need to back up WLM 2012. I run about 5 email accounts through there and I need to back up and restore all emails received and sent. I tried following a tutorial from MS but it wasn't working for me. Probably me, but now I'm thinking a good way to go would be to back up the Windows Live Mail folder on the C drive and then import that back after the OS is reinstalled. Will that work?

as i recall it's down a level or two or three in appdata/roaming. copy/paste the whole folder. passwords get lost though.

It's C>Users>Name>AppData>Local>Microsoft>Windows Live Mail

From there it appears all the emails are stored in the various email accounts. My concern was being able to restore those emails back to their original folders.

I believe after you create the accounts you can either import the old data. I do not think just copying over the folders will work

Been a while since I had to do a WLM migration

These are all POP3 accounts. I was hoping I could do a backup of the WLM folder, then reinstall WLM 2012 and manually input the settings and passwords. From there, I would hopefully be able to import all emails to their original accounts and folders without losing any messages.
