howdy.. i have 5 machines at home.. and now trying to install winxp home on them...
now i'm not very bright on those licensing thing from MS.. and it'd be great if someone here can explain those to me in plain English 🙂
1) . i've called MS and was told that i cannot buy just "COA"s that are available on pricewatch.
2) i've been told by MS that i cannot buy OEM xp home w/out buying 'appropriate hardware' (they meant almost whole computer, not just one keyboard)
3) MS told me to go buy whole retail xp ($199 each 😛) for all 5 of them.. i figured there had to be some other legal way to do this..
and another related Q..
1) i'm thinking about building PC and selling those... w/ windows included.. could i just buy those COAs and stick them on the pc ? .. (like those dells found in library?) or do i need to buy whole OEM package w/ media as well?
i was told you cannot sell the pc w/ OEM windows installed on it.. WTF?
