I run win2k with a diamond stealth III s540 32Mb. I downloaded some drivers for the video card recommended from the microsoft site along with DirectX8.1 (upgraded from 8.0a), but afterward, i started experiencing these jerking motions when i minimize and maximize my windows. Instead of moving in a fluid motion, the window will freeze for a split second and then min/max.

Any ideas? Thanks.

A quick search came up with this -- ya never know:

Check under System Properties | Advanced Tab | Performance and make sure
it's set to optimize CPU time to applications instead of Background
Processes.

Haha

Something tells me that my archnemesis, "Active Desktop" has attacked you :p

Right click on your desktop, select "Properties" then "Web". Uncheck both of those boxes.

I could be completely wrong, but it's worth a try.

Not really a solution more of a workaround but can you not just uninstall the latest drivers and reinstall your old ones? Do you really need the latest drivers?

What did you install first, your drivers or Dx 8.1? You should usually re-install your drivers after Dx.
