Windows is left idle for a a bit and it freezes on the welcome screen.

When I leave Windows XP Professional on idle for a couple of mins I try to get back on. The welcome screen is displayed with the username. I can move the mouse around but I can't click on the user to log in. I try to set up windows to not to show the welcome screen "on resume." Anyone have any ideas on whats going on?
 
Go to desktop right click on it Properties then screen saver then click on power and change the settings to never on the hard disks and maby standby to if that dosent help did you turn off the welcome screen
or you cant find where i didnt understand you?
