Windows is configuring updates 0% for about 5 minutes then fails.

This happens to me every time I boot up my pc. It goes to a configuration screen. It sits there for about 5-6 min then says it fails and finally boots to windows. Getting rather annoying. Anyway around this?? I googled it and got a lot of vista problems but not many windows 7 (X86).

Can you advise a work around. Please keep it simple minded for Im not tech savy. So getting in to things like reg files Im afraid of messing around in there.

Thanks Larry! Doing a manual install did the trick. Never would of thought of it.
But huge thanks for finding the thread and taking the time out to point me in the right direction.
