the iphone os is identical to a mac pro? can anyone confirm?

The iPhone doesn't use an x86 processor, so I there's no way it's identical.

i thought so. so based on that, i declare computerworld.com, and all of it's writers, worthless.

It's a variant of the mac kernel, but it's a real stretch to call it identical to the OSX.

Well, you got 2 out of 3 right...

Heh!

4 posts in 5 years?!?!?

That's amazing! I'm honored - really! 😉

I believe Gartner also predicted Itanium would grow by leaps and bounds when it debuted pushing x86 out of the market. Since then x86 is devouring the server market and starting to eye highend systems as well.

What windows needs is to be *really* modularized. Not kinda sorta modularized, but true, deep, I'm never going to need this so it should not be anywhere near my hard drive or memory modularization. Which sounds all good and lovely, but this is the same company that succeeds by forcing their products like IE and WMP down your throat, so I cant say I'm buying all their talk of modularization.
