I have dell dimension 3000. With windows Xp home. When I start my computer says: Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
I have googled this This guide and others and tried to follow guides. But i dont get asked for a pw for administrator. What should i do? Please help!!!

are you able to get into the recovery console? what happens when you boot from the windows cd and go to the recovery console? do you get anything?

i can get into the recovery center. but when i enter a command it says access denied.
