Windows IPOD Owners...

Can you use the IPOD just like a hard drive to install applications on? Do you have to install software to use the IPOD or can you just drag files to it?

Using the Ipod to run programs might be harmful to the HD. Lets not forget that the Ipod wasn't meant to run apps. I see a fried HD in your future :Q

Yeah, because reading a .exe file off a hard drive is so much harder on the disk than reading a .mp3 file :roll:

you can ibnstall stuff onto it. but i don't recommend it, the HDD on the ipod isn't built for non-stop intensive use. i crashed my first drive after backing up about 12GB of stuff onto it and restoring it at a later date. had to get a new ipod.

Maybe yours was just defective, because that's exactly what the iPod is intended for.

What's the first thing you're supposed to do with an iPod when you pull it out of the box? Copy 20GB of music onto it.

Heh. That's what I was thinking too. WTF good is an MP3 device that can't take having a couple gig of music dumped on it every now and then. MP3's are no different than any other data.
