Windows Installer Service Damaged ??

The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. You may be running in safe mode or Windows Installer may not be correctly installed.

This is the error I get when I try to install a game.

I've tried everything on microsoft's web-site, and I'm left hopeless.

Has anyone had this problem before and can maybe tip me in on what to do to fix this?

Have you tried looking under the services tab in computer management under administrative tools and making sure the service is not disabled?

if all else fails, system restore! Unless you turned off sys restore then I dunno. Some times sh!t like this can't really be fixed if you/ the computer did somin screwwy.
