It all started peacfully enough. Some of my services didn't start automatically, and when I tried to start them I got an Error 5 access denied message...even though I was logged on as the administrator account.

But eventually I got InstaCopy to install anyway, so I just let it go.

I have uninstalled Installer and reinstalled V3.0 over the to of it.
I have used the msiexec.exe /unregister and
msiexec /regserver commands

I have changed all the properties (of Installer) a million times
And surfed the web till I was totally pruned.

trying to installed alcohol120 is what is drving me crazy.

I am working with a fully update Win2000, and suspect the problem started
when I tried to install a copy of XP on a different hard drive to see if I
wanted to switch OPs. But that could just be parania speaking.
