Does windows have problems installing to hdb? It copied all the files but
when i restart, it says missing file hal.dll or something and stops.

Nithin.

Where does it come up with that error, during boot, or as it seems it is coming into win?

Also, is it the same in SAFE mode?

no this is during install. i put the cd in, it says copying files and then restarts the m/c. when it restarts it gives the error.

ah thats a good point. i didn't check the boot order. does it have options for 1st 2nd hard drives?
its a dell dimension.

actually i have used MS, but always installed to the first disk. would like to use linux but probs with my wireless. 🙁

I used to install to D drive (partition on hdd), just to confuse the enemy.

I dunno about your BIOS, have a look and let me know.

Re- Linux, I am pretty sure that different distros would have different results for your wifi - maybe do a search?
