Windows Install Error

I am trying to install Windows XP Pro onto my new computer. Everything seems to be going well but I suddenly get this error:

"A problem has been detected and windows had been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

The problem seems to be caused by the following file: ntfs.sys

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a nwe installation ask your hardware of software manufacturer for any Windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove and newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching of shadowing. If your need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advaced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0x864001FE, 0x00000000, 0xF7638A3C, 0x00000000)

*** ntfs.sys - Address F7638A3C base at F763000, Datestamp 3d6de5c1"

What in the world does this mean and how could this be fixed?

Try relaxing the memory timings in the BIOS. Memory settings set too tight have been the main source of BSOD's during OS instal in my experience. Are they currently set to manual or by SPD?

Ok, that error went away some how.

New error:

I get into the Windows XP screen where there are the five dots; collecting information, dynamic update, preparing installation, installing Windows, finalizing installation. The first 3 tasks are done and after that I get this error.,

"Error:

THe signature for Windows XP Professional Setup is invalid. The error code is fffffc06.

The system cannot find message text for message number 0xfffffc06 in the message file for syssetup.dll.

***

Fatal Error:

Setup failed to install product catalogs. This is a fatal error. The setup log files should contain more information."

That is repeated 5 times. First off WTF. Second, please help. 🙁

Edit: NoVo could you please elaborate on what you think I should do if I ever get that error message again?

This looks like a different problem from the memory timing BIOS settings I explained. Maybe someone else has seen this error and can help. Good luck!
