Although it's been discussed in the past, an article went across the wire today talking about Microsoft's recent entry into embedding WindowsCE into cars to serve as navigation/telemetrics systems. Does anybody happen to have any more information on this subject, or on Microsoft's embedded car systems?

Thanks,

Delco in Indiana was been working on a embedded CE project for Caddies in 2000 that was targeted for 2002/2003 model year. Rumor at the plant was that if successful, GM would follow suit.

I do not know what OS is being used in the other manufacters who are putting in navigation systems.

Microsoft has a version of CE going into BMW's according to this article. According to Sun, they already have agreements with General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co. to use Java in their cars. There's just not a whole lot of information out there regarding these things.
