Windows in a server room?

I want to block out the windows that are in the server room from solar heat and light. I was thinking two layers of contact paper type material?

First layer - white for reflection
Second layer - black to prevent light.

any other ideas?

This was my question exactly. Hence it is not a true server room. The office I am in used to be the old dejanews.com office. The room we are using was not their main server room, however, they did house servers in it from what I am told.

so do you guys have a lot of equipment in there...if so, do you ahve A/C?

well as of now, we have nothing, the servers in their are about 10 years old running on shoddy PC clones. I am installing a rack in there within the next month or two, all new networking gear, the whole shabang.

It will house 3 dell 1750's

whoa now, we are a small business here. 26 people.

Polarized film works very well.
Two layers, one at 45 degrees filters out all light.

As for room heat dispersal, go to Home Depot and buy a vent fan that you can place inside your ceiling (if you have like suspended or drop ceilings).

I used to test my applications in a server farm at an IBM site. A 30'x20' room before they turned on the 102 servers, was a frigid 54 degrees. When they were all powered on, the room warmed up to 78 degrees.
