I recently setup and installed Windows Home Server. I am very happy about it. I would like to accomplish a couple of things with this server (other than a media server):

* Install an antivirus software that can be upgraded and controlled from this server to all PC's within my network and possibly outside my network (like friends and family). I would like to be able to remotely run antivirus scan's when needed. If this cannot be done, what is the absolute BEST anti-virus software that I can purchase and install on this server?

* Host my own website from here. I understand a small bit about IIS and Dynamic DNS....but if anyone can give me some pointers on how to accomplish this (along with hosting me own email server at home), I would greatly appreciate it.

* FTP hosting from this server to anyone in the world (mainly friends and family)

If I can think of other things here, I will edit my post, but this is a start. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I can comment on the anti-virus situation with WHS.About the only option you have is Avast and their whs version. I tried it myself in evaluation and liked it ok, it integrates into the console and if you have their pro version installed on your clients it can schedule scans on the whole system. Its not over the top expensive but it seems to be available only as a download, I cant order a cd from new egg or go anywhere and buy avast whs edition in a retail package. I decided against this distribution method so when my evaluation period expired I had to un-install it.Guess what, no un-installer for avast anti-virus on whs. It just isnt included,or it wasnt then.I ended up searching the registry for avast and alwil and deleting the reg keys but this hosed the system and had to re-install whs from scratch. In my opinion anti-virus is needed for whs but the available choice's are limited to the avast whs or server versions of the others for much higher cost. Not Good.
