Yes, the RC is a new version over Beta 2. You can't upgrade and the RC will blow your existing store away, so be ready for that if you plan on upgrading. MS has said that RTM will upgrade RC.
 
I downloaded windows home server rc. I like it for the most part. All it is pretty much is windows server 2003 standard editions with some extra stuff thrown in. I thought windows home server was going to be built on that new windows longhorn server platform.

I always thought they've been pretty clear it would be built on Win2k3.

Also, one thing that is prolly worth mentioning here that many ppl prolly won't realize until they try, is that wifi is not possible with WHS (at least not out of the box, perhaps it can be hacked in somehow). There are many reasons for this but personally, I think it was a good tradeoff and proper decision, especially when you look at what their other options were.

I've really never read into much about windows home server. I knew microsoft was working on it, but like I said, haven't really looked much into it. I assumed it built on the windows longhorn server since microsoft is working on releasing that sometime sooner or later.
