That 99% of the usage of my WHS (and its predecessors) in my house. The advantage there is that you are not editing files on the WHS should see no issues with file corruption etc.

I don't see any issue with adding the 2nd drive for space at this point, again unless you will be editing the files on the WHS, which it sounds like you likley wont, you should be 99.99% perfectly fine.
