Windows Home edition or Pro?

It's not that edxpensive either...well, as compared to Apple's OS it is
Unless I read this wrong, you are saying Apple's OS is cheaper? I disagree. I can use Windows XP on a huge majority of computers in the world. Apple's OS costs quite a bit more for the "dominant" PC user, as you have to buy Apple's hardware first, which is jacked up in price to begin with. Probably to help defray the cost of their less expensive OS, among other things.

And, I agree. Microsoft is a key place to visit about various Microsoft products. The FAQ here at Anand's is also quite informative.

Unless it's for commercial use go with Home. You can do anything a home user needs to do and it's 2/3's the price.
