New system build has been hanging at the shutdown screen since first installing windows. I see my backlit keyboard power down and then nothing. The "Windows is shutting down" screen will display indefinitely until I manually press the reset or power button. Once I've done that I can power the system back up normally and everything seems fine until the next time I shut down.
The only time I have not had to manually shutdown from that point was a couple of times when I tried to launch "ATI tray tools" which for some reason crashes windows and the system automatically reboots with no input from me.
I've searched this problem with no answers. Anyone care to speculate on what might be causing this inability to complete the shutdown process?
