windows firewall supposedly not on

I am running Windows XP Pro. I installed the latest ATI Catalyst drivers
for my Radeon 9600 All In Wonder card earlier today and since then I have
been getting a Windows Security Alert that my firewall is turned off. But
when I check under Network Connections, it appears to be enabled. So I have
two concerns. One, is my Firewall actually on or not? And two, how do I
fix this? I'm not sure that the video drivers have anything to do with the
problem appearing, but I got my first Windows Security Alert just after
installing the software so that's why I bring it up. Any ideas? Thanks in
advance for any help you can provide.
