Windows file sharing questions.

Recently I setup another computer and for the first time in a long while it would be convienent to have file sharing.

I've already set it up and tested it. I'm using WinXP professional and requiring user accounts with passwords and all. My WRT54G router seems to be blocking file sharing over the internet according to scans but whatever it's doing isn't something I can explore in the settings so I am unsure if it's truly being blocked.

Basically I would like information about making sure that the file sharing is indeed only accessible over the local network. Also since I worry about wireless security is there a way to restrict file sharing to certain MAC addresses? I'm using the winxp pro access control lists but I basically just don't feel comfortable with my knowledge of security in this area of networking. Any help is appreciated.

File sharing per-se is Not an issue.

Intruder to your system might be an issue.

Use the maximum security that your Wireless is capable to (Wireless Security. ).

Router by default do not allow uninvited traffic from the Internet, unless you put a computer on the DMZ, or purposely open ports that are related to the File system you do not have to worry so much.

Basic Protection for Broadband Internet Installation.

You can increase local security by installing additional Software Firewall on each computer and allow only your computers IP in the trusted Zone.

Assemble a Freeware Security suit for Internet Connection Protection.

Well I guess I should of been more clear. I'm very confident in my knowledge on wireless security and basic internet security. I was more looking for somewhat more "advanced" ways to lockdown file sharing in the hopefully unlikely event that someone gets past some security mistake I've made elsewhere.
