Windows features in Vista empty ?

Hi. When I go into windows features (Optionalfeatures.exe) the window that comes up is empty ? Also the view installed updates is empty. Is there anyone who can spread some light on this problem. Anyone else experiencing this ? Is it a known bug ? I have read on other forums about this issue, but unfortunately no solution. I am running Vista Home Premium. I'm familiar with the http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/931712, but it did not solve my problem cause the regvalue don't exist. I've no problem installing updates from windows update.
I've posted about this on several forums, trying to find a solution without having to reinstall my OS.
