Windows Explorer Sidesbar links won't work

Hi everyone-

I am running a windows 2000 professional OS and my problem is that when ever I open say "My Computer" and on the sidebar there are hyperlinks or shortcuts to "my document", "My Network place" and so on, the links won't work. When you click on the links they don't go nowhere. I've check to see if the "my document" folder itself will open and that seems to be alright. It's just the links that won't work. Anyways I have done the following:

-Scandisk
-Virus Check
-Nortons Windoctor with the reg check
-Try to right click and check the property of the links, but they don't show anything, doesn't even have a property to the links.

If anyone out there can help it would be great. Thanks!
