windows explorer problems


this is the 3rd time ive posted this problem

evidently a security patch i d/led on dec 12 had a bug that makes win explorer crash


if anyone knows how i can fix this please help me out

ok here is my problem-

Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience

this happens anytime i try to access anything associated with windows explorer

ie... any folder, control pannel, my computer, command prompt...

i can open anything that isnt in a folder

i dont have a full version of xp home (just the recovery disk) so i cant format

i have reinstalled xp home to the greatest extent of the recovery disk

i have reinstalled the newest version of internet explorer

ive run the norton windoctor (hehe)

ive searched the microsoft support page... didnt find my problem

i know that i could buy a full version of xp and format to fix it.. but i REALLY dont want to have to do that

if any one can help me please do

i can access everything in safe mode but i cant uninstall the update

i am pretty sure that this is the update that caused my problem

Boot up and select known good hardware config. That should take you back.... If you could get into explorer you could get back further...

And please just go buy it. I really don't like having to pay more becuase people steal stuff. :disgust:
