Windows explorer, My computer, control panel--opens up my dial up connection ? after XP security patch

This has been happening form the past week, every time I open "windows explorer" "my Comnputer" or even "control panel"
My dial up connection try to access the net. I cant tell where its trying to call.

I tried resetting the folder options, ran Uptodate avenger, ran adaware and still the problem exists.

I dont have system resore enabled.



Anybody have any ideas how to trouble shoot this or fix this irritating problem.
I have not re-installed my xp for at least 1 1/2 year (should be some record) and am hopping I do not need to
