Hi,

I'm running Windows XP (SP2) on a AMD 3.2.

I'm having a problem with windows explorer when I enter explorer by right clicking on My Comuter and clicking on explorer or the keystroke combinartion Start+E. Explorer essentially locks up using either of these 2 methods. I have to terminate abnormally the program.

However, if I go to Start, Run, and enter Explorer, explorer starts and runs fine; Since explorer appears to alright using this method, I assume the program is fine. Perhaps when I execute the program using the 2 methods causes some bad parameters to be sent. Does anybody have any ideas?

a wild guess you may have a problem with a drive being read in my computer
when you run explorer from RUN does it open in My Computer or when you try and open it does it freeze ?

if so you might try removing any removable drives and CDs that might be in the system
then if that doesn't work you might have to try chkdsk or a hard drive test
