Windows Explorer Invalid Page Fault

My friend has Windows Me for his OS and I've noticed that his Windows Explorer keeps malfunctioning every time. Once it does, I can't get into My Computer or My Documents etc. I have to reboot. This is what the error message says:

Date 08/04/2002 Time 17:14

EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in

module IDLE.DLL at 0187:1000139e.

Anyone have any ideas why Windows Explorer would have this kind of problem? I did a scan disk and there were no errors on his drive. The registry checker didn't show any problems. Help!
