Hello everyone,

I get this error everytime in log into the broadband internet client (inorder to connect to the net).

What happens is - after i log in, i get this message saying "To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program". Name : Windows Explorer. Publisher : Microsoft.

So i click on 'close message' and "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close..........". The 'send error report' and 'don't send' appears.

The program is closed by Data Execution Prevention (to help against viruses and other stuff).

This happens everytime i log into the net. I checked for viruses and trojans but found none.

Anybody knows how to get rid of this problem???

Is this 2003 or XP? You should be able to disable DEP. On 2003 it's under System Properties > Advanced > Performance Settings.

It is XP, yes you can disable it also, but it reads that it helps prevent the system against viruses. So disabling it would make the system more prone to viruses.

I did not get this error before. Would disabling it make my system more vulnerable towards virusus?
