Windows Explorer constantly reverting to large icon view

Well this is lame. Every so often explorer will go from detail view (which I set it to) to large icon view. I hate this. Is there any way to force it into detail view for all time? I can maybe understand the unwanted change during an OS crash but it can happen in standard operation, too.
