Windows Driver/Device Errors

This happended after a restart one day. Windows decided to have driver issues w/ my second video card (PCI, Matrox Mystique) and my DVD Burner (some lite-on stuff). It gives me the error "Driver not meant for the platform" every time I try to install drivers (either new ones, XP ones or 3rd party ones). Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

So far I've tried to refresh Atapi.sys, which didnt' help. Any other ideas?

Did you try removing them from device mgr and letting windows redetect them at reboot?

yea, tried that. I've tried getting rid of Atapi.sys (supposedly fixes problem w/ IDE devices). What .sys would control PCI cards and my CD rom Drive?

It should natively detect drivers for both of those devices. Perhaps you could post your setup*.* logfiles from c:\windows somewhere, and perhaps you could detail more precisely the exact errors you're getting and the exact circumstances, because the text above is still fairly generic.
