Windows Drive letter assignment

I think that's in the realm of the Logical Disk Manager service. If you go into Explorer and right click on My Computer then select Manage, you'll open up the Computer Manager. In the list under Storage you'll see Disk Management. That's where you can assign and change drive letters, etc.

It adds one to the last one used?
Yeah, I was just going to say from an alphabetical list but I figured that was too obvious and maybe there was more to the question.
