I'm trying out the Windows Desktop Search thing that goes with Office 2007. It seems to work ok, but why is it trying to connect to the internet? My firewall is telling me that windowssearch.exe, searchindexer.exe and searchfilterhost.exe are trying to connect to an IP.
Now why would indexing of my emails require an internet connection? If I permanently block the application, will it cause any problems? Should I uninstall it as spyware?
