Noooo! nooo! I'm just one big "noooooo" right now... for some months ago I started experiencing a weird problem with my
newly installed win2000 - when I tried to write to my D: drive (2nd hd), it would sometimes say "Windows - Delayed Write Failed - the data has been lost, check your hardware and network connection" - But the data would transfer fine.
So I just ignored the problem - but as time progressed, the error messages became more frequent, and then sometimes the data would
be lost, and after that the system would be extremely slow.
So I asked on a forum, and was advised to buy a new harddisk, even though the matrox the problem happened on was only 2 months old. But I bought an IBM 60GXP - and the problem occured after just one week's use of this brand new HD. I was furious and sad - I tried switching to win98 and winXP, but the problem remained. So I returned to the forum for help - this time I was told to buy a harddisk controller, as this probably was the problem. So I did that. Can you imagine what happened? On the very same day I installed it, the problem was there again.
The weeks passed, and the problem got increasingly annoying, because my 60GB IBM was virtually useless, and I was confined to the 15GB Quantom HD I use for my windows partition. So a week ago - I decided to buy a brand new computer, because if it wasn't the hd's, or the controller, it probably was the motherboard.
Yesterday I got my new system, xp1600 on an epox 8kha+ motherboard. The only parts I kept from the old system were my two
harddisks, because these were less than five months old. So just now I got it all to work, and I started to transfer the files
from my 15GB to the 60GB, so that I could format the 15GB and begin installing all the stuff for the new system.
The message came the moment I pressed "copy": "Windows - Delayed Write Failed" etc. NOOOOOOOOO!!! A brand new
system - almost new harddisks - but the problem remains?? WHAT IS THE MATTER? - Please someone help
