"Windows - Delayed Write Failed"

today I've been gettting a lot of these, they just popup out of the blue when I'm surfing these forums. when one of these popup, more follow it seems I cannot write any data to the harddrives anymore... and this problem carries itself into linux, and the IBM DFT reprots my drive as healthy(WTF?!?) a restart does not fix it but a complete shutdown fixes it temporarily but hours later it comes back again... in fact it corrupted my windows 2000 installation and I am posting from linux right now from the same HD. this is a 75GXP 30GB, i haven't experienced the clicking sound metioned by many people so I was wondering if this means my drive is dying?

thanks a lot

thanks but that's not the problem I am having... it doesn't happen on shutdown and I do have SP2 installed 🙁
