Windows Crashes with a certain RAM

Hi-

I have a generic piece of DDR400 (512MB) that was givin to me last summer. When I put it in my system it will generally boot to windows but crash after several minutes......sometimes after hours......and sometimes when i try to play a game. This is not a terrible problem as i have a gig of BH-5 in my system but i would l ike to sell the generic ram but need to figure out the issue first.

If anyone can get me some info on the timings or give me some advice that would be great.

try running memtest

also, what psu do you have?
Also, if you use your bh-5 in the system, do you get crashes?

I have a trupower 430 watt PSU so i don't think that is the problem.

My system has never crashed with the bh5 at 2-2-2-5 400FSB.

I will run memtest
