What should I do? Windows is telling me my cd roms drivers are corrupt! I have unistalled and let it find them again. This is a bit of a strange problem for me. My Bios sees them fine and windows sees them just can't use them.

I have a NEC 3500a, a 2500 and a Lite-on SOHD-167T

Nope, and they are useable in DOS. I started up today and had this problem. Haven't made any major changes in a few months! I even resorted to follow MS troubleshoot which i found out was what i did the first time to fix it. Uninstall and let MS find it again.

If uninstalling them, then rebooting doesn't help,

Then,

Try reinstalling the chipset drivers. Have you recently updated any patches or SP's?

Try one at a time in the system.
On its own cable as master in the Secondary IDE channel.

But, if the Windows drivers are missing or corrupt how will it function. I need correct drivers before anything!
